Mash Up 2
I was never really happy with this plein air painting. The overpass always seemed to cut the painting in half, although I DID LOVE the little bright piece of sky and green underneath...that is what provoked the painting in the 1st place. Now I think the original intent of the painting is more true. The top feels more connected and that little sweet bright spot is still there...and you definitely get the age and grime.
More than one way to reach every destination.....
Taking an old plein air painting and bringing a new life to it challenges me in different ways and the outcome is always surprising! I'm very drawn to the idea of taking something old and making it new again. You can read more about that in a blog I wrote.
