  Sarah takes the urban landscape we see every day and transforms it
into art, making the ordinary....extraordinary!

"There is nothing like painting on the spot and capturing the essence and light of the scene around you. There is something unique about urban landscape...an energy, a rhythm, a vitality...and I feel that when I'm painting. I hope to capture that in my plein air paintings and use that knowledge later when I am working in my studio."

      I enjoy sharing my love of the urban landscape and have been known to convert others who never thought they'd enjoy such a thing. Obviously we all follow a path in our lives and the old cliche that Life is a Journey applies. With every painting and every person I meet, I learn just how true this is and how my quirky, spontaneous, colorful and yet weathered plein air paintings fit in and can maybe tell some of that story.

     I hope that through my art you will be inspired to look beyond the obvious, claim your journey, your courage, your strength and aspire to follow your dreams...however extraordinary or ordinary they may be.

       Born and raised in small-town USA (Clarion, PA) at the age of 13, I worked in a local summer-stock theater, fell in love with theater set design and proceeded to make a career of painting sets, backdrops, etc. from Maine to Wisconsin to New Hampshire; finally landing in Delaware and Philadelphia area.
       Fast forward 25 years. I found myself unexpectedly unemployed in December 2013. Yep, 2 weeks before Christmas.  I’d often dreamed of living a more creative life. With the love and support of family and friends, I launched a new career. Creating ART full time. I began painting en plein air(outdoors) in spring 2014.
       I hope to share my journey, the joys and some of the foibles with you in oil paint and perhaps swap a few stories with you along the way.
