Mash Up 1
Taking an old plein air painting and bringing a new life to it challenges me in different ways and the outcome is always surprising! I'm very drawn to the idea of taking something old and making it new again. You can read more about that in a blog I wrote.
This may not look as fun or playful as the sock monkey series, but as far as stretching my creative muscles...it is, for me!
This original plein air painting was a bit larger and done in Philadelphia. It was a good painting that I had in several shows over the years but it never quite worked. Now, cropped down and reworked, I think it's so much stronger and standing on it's own after all these years...and playful in it's own way as well.
