Taking an old plein air painting and bringing a new life to it challenges me in different ways and the outcome is always surprising! I'm very drawn to the idea of taking something old and making it new again. You can read more about that in a blog I wrote.
I'm really having fun and letting loose with these mash ups lately. I start by responding to the plein air painting I'm working from...often working against it in a way. In this case i kept the sky for the longest time and realized at one point...Why? so i obliterated it and then the whole piece came together!
