This is another plein air painting that has lived a few lives. I was interrupted when I painted it and thought I'd go back to finish it, but never did. I liked the unfinished version and actually showed it that way. Then I tried finishing it and showed it as finished. Still, no takers.
So once again I think this version has an energy that neither of the others had. The struggle is there but I don't think it wins in the end.
Taking an old plein air painting and bringing a new life to it challenges me in different ways and the outcome is always surprising! I'm very drawn to the idea of taking something old and making it new again. You can read more about that in a blog I wrote.
