My plein air work is completely based in observing; painting what I see. What I enjoy about abstract work is being able to disengage from that; to play and not be tied to reality.
I did a whole series of these thumbnails based on a plein air painting I did. It was fun to push, pull and morph the shapes and colors. It was an experiment in abstraction for me. Some worked better than others. Obviously I liked this guy enough to frame it !
