Sometimes you just have to try something new. I’m a big fan of Richard Diebenkorn’s work. I was looking at that a lot …. how he simplifies shape and form. So I went out one day with the mission in mind to simplify what I see into big broad shapes and colors. It sounds simple but it really isn’t. To capture a scene with a few strokes is something I continue to practice.
