Reclining Female Drawing
Quiet, peaceful original drawing of reclining nude female figure. Charcoal and pastel original drawing.
18 x 24"
This drawing of a reclining female figure was quite a challenging pose. It’s a lively, expressive drawing of wonderfully quiet pose. Although the marks are visible and energetic…not smoothed out and “pretty” the overall tone is still restful and peaceful.
One of my favorite things is attending open studios and drawing the nude figure. It’s a fascinating subject and never the same twice even if the pose is the same. I like to draw directly from the model and get the essence or gesture of the model on my paper quickly and with expressive lines. Every pose communicates something and that is what I am after…. that energy… that essence….within the human form. To see video of me in action, click here.
